In recent news, it was announced that Komi-san will be receiving an anime adaptation. What’s interesting is the fact that we are getting an anime adaptation by the end of this year. This makes things better for us weebs as we have been battling this pandemic with all our strength. The only thing keeping us alive were anime such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan, Horimiya, etc. For Komi-san to receive an anime adaptation is extremely surreal. Especially after all those Reddit threads and youtube videos that were hell-bent on predicting that Komi-san wouldn’t get an anime adaptation.

Horimiya Chapter 122 Release Date

World Trigger Season 2 Episode 6

Episode 6 was originally scheduled to release today, i.e., 14 February 2020. But, due to the unprecedented Earthquake in Japan. The episode got replaced by an announcement regarding the natural disaster. The official account of World Trigger anime posted,

“The terrestrial broadcasting of the 6th episode of the World Trigger 2nd Season has been suspended until further notice due to emergency coverage related to the earthquake that occurred at midnight on 13 February.”

First, there was a delay in the manga and now the episode. It is quite unfortunate for the World Trigger fans out there.

Release Date

Initially, the 6th episode was going to release on 14 February. However, there won’t be an episode anytime soon. We highly await an official confirmation from the studio. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train stayed at #2 in its 17th week. 92,000 tickets have been sold at the weekend. An earning of around 1.38 Million USD has been made in a time of 3 days. 27.07 million tickets have been sold, and a humungous amount of 37,179,382,650 yen (353.6 million USD) has been accumulated.

The film stayed at the top #1 position for 12 consecutive weeks creating havoc for the fan base and making a great fortune with the film. In the 13th week, the film dropped to the #2 position and came back with a bang to the #1 position again in the 14th week.

The film has surpassed its all-time great rival “Spirited Away” by Hayao Mizayaki.

The movie is being screened in 38 IMAX theatres in Japan.

Talking of Numerical figures: The film had the highest opening weekend globally for October 16-18. The film sold 3,424,930 tickets and earned 4,623,117,450 yen (about US$43.85 million) in Japan in its first three days. The film sold 910,507 tickets and earned over 1,268,724,700 yen (about US$12.03 million) on its opening day alone, making it the highest weekday opening Japan has ever witnessed.

Gintama: The Final 

The new Anime film of Hideaki Sorachi’s Gintama manga “Gintama: The Final” dropped from #3 to #5 position in its fifth week. The film made around 650,400 USD from Friday to Saturday. With more than a million tickets sold, the film has made a total earning of 1,415,817,100 yen (about 13.46 million USD).

The film opened at #1 on 8 January and ended Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s streak of 12 consecutive weeks at the top. The manga also inspired a two-episode prequel, Gintama: The Semi-Final. The anime premiered exclusively in Japan on the dTV service on January 15th. A novel, too, is owned by Mirei Miyamoto’s film that was shipped on January 8th.

The manga has also inspired many original video anime (OVA), event anime, two live-action films, and two live-action net spinoffs. Viz Media has published the first 23 volumes in English.

The Promised Neverland 

“The Promised Neverland”: Live-action film of Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu manga dropped from #8 to #9 position in the 8th week after release. It made around 28,718,915 Yen, i.e. (273,100 USD) in just 3 days from Friday to Sunday. The film has made a total of 1,862,403,250 yen (about 17.70 million USD).

Opening on December 18th, the movie made 373,372,850 yen in just 3 days.

The Promised Neverland manga was released in August 2016 by Shirai and Demizu in the Weekly Shonen Jump. They ended it on June 15. Toonami aired the anime in April 2019. The second season was to be premiered in October but got late due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

“The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window,” the live-action film of Tomoko Yamashita, dropped off the top 10 in its third weekend.

The issue here is that Funimation has failed “to design, construct, maintain, and operate its website to be fully accessible to and independently usable by [Angeles] and other blind or visually-impaired people,” which in this scenario is a violation of her rights under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The website targeted in the lawsuit is “shop,funimation.com.”

Angeles stated in the lawsuit that she is a “visually-impaired and legally blind person, who cannot use a computer without the assistance of screen-reading software,” and is proficient at using the “Non-Visual Desktop Access” screen-reading software. In the complaint, Angeles reported that she visited the “shop,funimation.com” website on multiple occasions to shop and make purchases but was “denied a shopping experience similar to that of a sighted individual due to the website’s lack of a variety of features and accommodations, which effectively barred [her] from being able to determine what specific products were offered for sale.”

The lawsuit claim emphasized that a lot of features lacked on the site. No label element was there for or a title attribute for each field. Claims have also been made that there are broken links on the page, and thus, the lawsuit claims that the website has attempted engagement in acts of  “intentional discrimination.”

Now, Funimation has been asked to “retain a qualified consultant acceptable to Angeles” to assist Funimation in complying with the code of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) for its website. The injunction should be permanent for the qualified consultant.

According to supplementary information on Title III Regulations of the ADA:

Although the ADA language does not explicitly mention the Internet, the Department [of Justice] has taken the position that title III covers access to Web sites of public accommodations. The Department has issued guidance on the ADA as applied to the Web sites of public entities, including the availability of standards for Web site accessibility.
…
An agency (and similarly a public accommodation) with an inaccessible Web site also may meet its legal obligations by providing an accessible alternative for individuals to enjoy its goods or services, such as a staffed telephone information line. However, such a choice must provide an equal degree of access in terms of hours of operation and the range of options and programs available.

The lawsuit alleges that Funimation is a “public accommodation” by another section of Title III of the ADA, which states:

No individual shall be discriminated against based on disability in the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, or accommodations of any place of public housing by any person who owns, leases (or leases to), or operates a place of public accommodation.

Finally, it has been alleged that Funimation’s website is a “sales establishment and public accommodations” in regards to the N.Y.C. Administrative Code, which contains anti-discriminatory clauses against disabled people.

Angeles is claiming the following remedy and compensation:

• Prohibition of Funimation from violating the Law and Order of ADA and N.Y.C. Administrative Code.
• Order for Funimation to make its website such that it’s incomplete compliance with ADA.
• Compensatory damage for filing the suit and attorney’s expense and export fee.
