“Gintama: The Final Anime Film” has created havoc by making an earning of 1.4 Billion Yen ( i.e 13.27 Million USD) as of Sunday. More than a million copies have been sold.

A mini-poster show is being offered to the theatergoers since January 26th as a giveaway. The scene depicts a “what-if” scene with erstwhile friends and enemies Gintoki, Takasugi, and Katsura with their late master Yoshida Shouyou.

The film made “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Muggen Train” step down from the #1 position on January 8th and is shocking the Japanese box office since then.

“Gintama The Semi-Final” is a new net anime inspired by the manga. It’s the story of two episodes prequel to the film. A novel by the name of Mirei Miyamoto is also inspired by the film. The novel shipped on January 8th.

Sorachi’s original “science-fiction period-drama comedy” manga began in 2003 and ended in June 2019 with over 55 million copies in circulation. Various Original Video Anime (OVA), two live-action films, and two live-action net spinoffs were also inspired by the manga. The first 23 volumes of the manga were published in English by Viz Media.

The first 49 episodes have been streamed on HULU. In 2010-2011, Sentai Filmworks released the first 49 episodes on DVD but without English subs.
